School Lunches

The lunch breaks are:

  • Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils: 11.50 am - 1.00 pm

  • Key Stage 2 pupils: 12.00 pm - 1.00 pm

The children eat in the hall in two sittings: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children eat in the first sitting and Years 3 to 6 in the second sitting.

Parents may choose for children to have cooked meals which can be ordered in advance. We use ABM Catering Solutions as our hot meal providers. The lunches are cooked to order on the premises in our kitchen pod. The current cost is £2.30 and you can preorder and pay via our online payment system, Parentpay.

Packed Lunches

If your child prefers, they may bring a packed lunch to school. In line with guidance from The School Food Trust, we would encourage parents to provide a balanced healthy lunch. You can find some great ideas here.

Lunchtime Supervision

We have a number of Lunchtime Supervisors to look after the needs of children during the lunchtime break. Their role involves the care and supervision of children when eating their lunch and on the school playground. We also provide a number of lunchtime activity clubs to occupy the children during lunch break. An updated list of what's on offer can be found here and also on the school newsletter, The Badby Bulletin. Other members of staff are always on the school premises during the lunch break. All lunchtime supervisors have First Aid training.

Free School Meals

We would urge parents to check if they are entitled to claim for Free School Meals. The school is able to claim additional funding to support the progress of your child at school. For more information see our page on Pupil Premium.

More details on how to apply are available from the school office or from Northamptonshire County Council.
