Summer Term 1 and 2

Welcome back to the new term. Over the next 2 terms, we will be exploring the question ‘Where do the wheels on the bus go? We will be exploring and understanding geographical similarities & differences between a small area of the UK and a small area in a contrasting non-European country. Here are some key UK facts to drive away into the term!

1. It is a unique country made up of four nations: England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. England, Wales, and Scotland also make up Great Britain. Much of the north and west of the U.K. is covered in high ground, knife-edged mountain ridges separated by deep valleys.

2. The current population of the UK is 65.6 million people

4. It is considered an act of treason to put a postage stamp with the queen's head upside down on an envelope! The British eat over 11.5 billion (1,500,000,000) sandwiches every year!!
