Our School

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL!

"Staff and pupils alike are proud to be part of Badby School" Ofsted 2017

Badby School is situated in the picturesque village of Badby on the outskirts of Daventry.

At over 100 years old, our small school has seen many changes growing from three classes in the original Georgian building to an extended school of seven classes and an onsite Preschool.

What does remain, however, are high expectations and a strong, positive ethos with happy and confident children who are encouraged to exceed their potential.

Our current number on roll is 157 and the children are placed into single year group classes or mixed age classes depending on the number of children in the cohort. Children are ‘sorted’ into House Teams on entry to the school and work within house groups to earn house points and merits. We always place siblings in the same house so there is no concern for parents and carers about which house to support on Sports Day!

Each class has its own interactive whiteboard, Teaching Assistant and a wide variety of resources to support good quality teaching. We also make great use of our fantastic surroundings, including our Forest School area, allotment and the local Badby Woods, to support outdoor learning and various aspects of our curriculum.

We are constantly reviewing the curriculum we offer, which is varied and exciting and driven by children’s next steps and individual needs, to ensure that it challenges and supports them in the most effective way. To further enrich and enliven our work, we offer frequent trips such as visits to museums in London, the Thinktank in Birmingham, theatre visits and other exciting learning experiences linked to the current theme.

Our school is also passionate about sports and P.E. We have many different sports teams such as Rugby, Netball, Athletics and Football who compete in local events throughout the year. Many of our children also choose to learn to play a musical instrument and go on to join the Northamptonshire music school. Present and past pupils are also members of the County Strings Orchestra.

Visits to see our school will be warmly welcomed and you are invited to make an appointment with our office staff.

We look forward to meeting you and your child and hope you will consider joining our thriving school community.
